Copy of a letter from Thomas Manning to Charles Lamb, India House, London. Manning writes about the gap in their correspondence and might have supposed that “you & the Jolly Excise-man had missed you way one night & tumbled into the water in Liquor-pond Street, had not that busy winch. fame… spread a report that you and Coleridge were seen lately in the city”. Manning is looking forward to the Easter break and on to the long summer vacation. he enquires whether Lamb has heard anything more of his Tragedy. Dated [17 March 1800].
