Palm leaf; 10 to 12 lines on a folio; bark (?) boards, one smaller in size than the manuscript leaves. Manuscript appears to consist of several short works. Paper wrapped around MS has inscription: “Whish No. 173 Grammatical works in Malayalam language”. Inscription on MS: “Pra??y vain?? short [?] works.” Inscription on label pasted on cover: “Ms173 in MS[?] list, but not included in Printed Catalogue”. Whish / South Indian Sanskrit Manuscript Collection. The manuscript is listed in the synoptical list of manuscript numbers (Whish numbers and Winternitz numbers) at the beginning of ’A catalogue of South Indian Sanskrit manuscripts (especially those of the Whish Collection) belonging to the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland’ by M. Winternitz, with an appendix by F. W. Thomas (London: RAS, 1902). Winternitz notes that the manuscript is “not Sanskrit” and there is therefore no entry for it in the catalogue, and no Winternitz number.
