Biographical history
Sir Max Mallowan was a British archaeologist specialising in ancient Middle East history. He is best known for his extensive excavations at major sites such as Ur, Nineveh, Nimrud, and the Eye Temple at Tell Brak. He married the novelist Agatha Christie in 1930 who joined him for regular expeditions to Syria and Iraq.
