Barbara Ingham became interested in India and made several visits to the country in the 1970s and 1980s. She also became involved in the Rural Life Programme.

Letter to Barbara Ingham, the sender's name erased. They thank her for her letter and for her colour photographs of the cave paintings at Ajanta and explain the work being undertaken in the caves to restore/uncover the paintings. They also explain the difficult conditions and request Barbara Inghman to write to tell how far she has got in her Guidebook on Indian monuments.
