Biographical history
Edward Walter Hutchinson served as a British Vice-Consul in Saigon, Vietnam and as British Consul in Chiengmai, Thailand. Hutchinson is the author of _Adventurers in Siam in the Seventeenth Century_ published in 1940. He is also known for his annotated translation of the _Mémoire du Père de Bèze_ , which was published in 1968 under the title _1688 Revolution in Siam_ .

Scope and content
This is a single notebook with multiple loose sheets inserted into it. It includes Hutchinson's notes on Horace Molin's _Histoire de la revolution de Siam, arrivee en l'annee 1688_ and Guy Tachard's _Voyage de Siam, des Peres jesuites, envoyez par le Roy aux Indes & à la Chine_ . In addition, the notebook also includes two photographs of written manuscript; a letter from Hutchinson to Mr. Veitch, dated 20th January 1960; a letter from the University of Hong Kong to Hutchinson, dated 4 February 1961; and a letter from Hutchinson to Luk Lan Rin, dated 9 June 1961.
