[South Indian Sanskrit MS 079, Whish MS 79] Śāṅkarācāryacarita
Śāṅkarācāryacarita
Language – Sanskrit
Date – [1800?]
Palm leaf; 8 or 9 lines on a folio.
Manuscript consists of the following texts: 1. the Śāṅkarācāryacarita, a life of Śaṅkara in 9 Adhyāyas. Winternitz notes that this seems to be another recension of the work with the same title described by A. C. Burnell in ‘Classified index to the Sanskrit MSS. in the Palace at Tanjore’ prepared for the Madras Government by A. C. Burnell, Part I Vedic Manuscripts (London, 1869), p.96 seq.; 2. the Parāśarasmṛti with the commentary of Mādhavācārya, in 12 Adhyāyas.
Winternitz notes that there is an entry by C. M. Whish dated 1829 but that the MS. may be about 50 years older.
