Manuscript consists of the following texts: 1. the Bhāṭṭadīpikā, a commentary on Jaimini’s Mīmāṃsādarśana, by Khaṇḍadevamiśra, a pupil of Viśveśvara, Adhyāyas I-VI, and XI-XII; 2. Brahmānubhavāṣṭaka, a collection of 8 stanzas (f.50); 3. a set of Paradigms of Conjugation.

Winternitz notes that there is an entry by C. M. Whish dated 1831. “In the colophon, containing the date, ‘Svabhānu’ seems to be meant for ‘Subhānu’. The Subhānu year immediately preceding 1831 is A.D. 1823/24, but the MS. was probably written in A.D. 1763/64”.

The scribe appears to be Veṃkuśā, a lady of Śekharipattana?

This MS of the Bhāṭṭadīpikā begins with the first Sūtra of Jaimini, whereas some other copies (see references in Winternitz catalogue record) begin with the second Pāda of the first Adhyāya.

Text of the Bhāṭṭadīpikā begins: om Viśveśvaraṃ gurun natvā Khaṇḍadevas satām mude | tanute tatprasādena saṃkṣiptāṃ bhāṭṭadīpikāṃ || iha khalu nikhilapumartthān artthasādhanau dharmmādharmmau sāṃgopāṃgavedāddhyayanaikasamadhigamyau tac ca vicāram antareṇa na bhāvyāyālam iti tatpradarśśanāya paramakāruṇiko bhagavāñ Jaiminir ācāryyas sakalavidyopakāridharmmamīmā[ṃ]sāṃ athāto dharmmajijñāsety ārabhya vidyate vānyakālatvād yathā yājyā saṃpraiṣa ityantais sūtrair bañca[read -ḥ pañcā?]dhikaraṇagarbhitāṃ ṣoḍaśalakṣaṇīm abhyarhitāṃ vidyāṃ prakaṭīcakāra | adhikaraṇan tu vedavat ṣaḍaṃgaṃ | yad āhuḥ viṣayo viśayaś caiva pūrvapakṣas tathottaraṃ | saṃgatiś ceti pañcāṃgaṃ prāñcodhikaraṇaṃ viduḥ iti prayojanañ ceti **** [blank] saṃgatiprasaṃgādibhedāt bahuvidhā | tatredam ādyam adhikaraṇaṃ athāto dharmmajijñāsā | (I, 1, 1)

The first Adhyāya ends f.18b, the 2nd on f.38b, the 3rd on f.98, the 4th on f.120, the 5th on f.138b, the 6th on f.172. Then begins the 11th Adhyāya (with a new foliation). The 12th Adhyāya begins f.27b.

It ends (f.50) with the explanation of the Sūtras XII, 4, 41 sqq.: prabhutvāt || prasaṃgāt brāhmaṇasyaivārtvijyam uta trayāṇām api varṇānām iti cintāyāṃ … brāhmaṇasyaivārtvijyam iti siddhaṃ | tad evan nirūpitau dvādaśabhir addhyāyair ddharmmādharmmau || iti śrī-Khaṇḍadevamiśraviracitāyāṃ bhāṭṭadīpikāyāṃ dvādaśasyāddhyāyasya caturtthaḥ pādaḥ || addhyāyaś ca samāptaḥ || hariḥ om ||

The scribe’s colophon: aṃbhomuksamaye svabhānuśaradi vṛkṣe kumāryyāhvaye [dutthe māsi kanyā, written underneath the last three words] citrābhe prathamā tithāv anasite pakṣe dine dyomaṇeḥ | bhāṭṭaprākpadadīpikaṃ samalikhac chrī-Veṃkuśā strī sudhī śrīmacchekaripattanottamaśiroratnāyamāṇo cirāt || om ||

The two folios at the end of the manuscript containing the Paradigms of Conjugation begin: śapi | bhū sattāyāṃ | edha vṛddhau | ḍupacaṣ pāke | pacati pacata ity ādi | liṭi | pecitha | papaktha | etc.

It ends: luṅi acūcurat acūcurata | luṭi corayitety ādi | pāla rakṣaṇe arcca pūjāyāṃ pūrvavat || luṅi ārccicat ārccicata |
