Palm leaf; 6 or occasionally 7, lines on a folio. Manuscript consists of the Aitareya-Āraṇyaka; text in close agreement with the text printed in the Bibliotheca Indica series. Label reads ‘Rig-Vēdah; Āraṇyam. Vol. 4’. Inside C M. Whish has written ‘The Āraṇyam of the Rig-Vēdah’ and ‘N.B. The 2nd Āraṇyakam is called the Bāwṛicha-Brāhmaṇopanishat; and the 3rd Āraṇyakam is called the Samhitōpanishat’. F. W. Thomas notes in the appendix to the Winternitz catalogue that at the end of II, 2, 3 the text has tad via Viśvāmitraṃ in error for tad vaiśvāmitraṃ, and that at the beginning of II, 5, 4 and II, 6, 1 respectively the words apakrāmantu garbhiṇyaḥ and yathāsthānan tu garbhiṇyaḥ are omitted. A peculiarity of this MS. is that the colophons read āraṇaḥ for āraṇyakaḥ .
