Text of the Ekāgnikāṇḍavyākhyā, or Mantrapraśnabhāṣya, or Mantrabhāṣya, by Haradatta. Winternitz notes that this is the MS ‘Hw’ used for the edition of ‘the Mantrapāṭha or the Prayer Book of the Āpastambins’ by M. Winternitz, Part I, (Oxford, 1897, Anecdota Oxoniensia).

Text begins: avighnam astu om | praṇipatya mahādevaṃ Haradattena dhīmatā | ekāgnikāṇḍamantrāṇām vyākhyā sammyag vidhīyate || 1 | tatra tādadāryyā ādito vaiśvadevamantrān adhīyate | etc.

It ends: ity ekāgnikāṇḍavyākhyā Haradattācāryyaviracitā saṃpūrṇā || visargabindvakṣara- etc.

The date is given in the colophon as follows: āṃgīrasavarṣam | cittiramāsaṃ | 24 tithi | aṣṭami tiruvoṇanakṣatrattiḻe | aparāṇhakālattiḻe muḍiñcutu || hariḥ om śubham astu āṃgīrasābde vasubhe meṣamāsebjavāsare | Śeṣādrisūnunā sammyaṅ mantrabhāṣyaṃ samāptam ||

Winternitz also notes ‘Entry by Mr. Whish dated ‘Calicut 1824′. The Aṅgirasa year preceding 1824 [see colophon] is A.D. 1812/13, but probably the year A.D. 1752/53 is meant’.
